SANDRO GARBO
AND THE WORLD OF PETROL ART
And we all played with our model cars: Ford Mustang Fastback, Porsche 917, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ford GT40, Shelby Cobra, and so many others. We imagined each other as real drivers then, zooming over 200 mph, zigzagging our little cars among plastic T-Rexes, cowboys, Indians, Legos, horses, Dark Vador and other Muppets, waiting anxiously for the next episode of "Wacky Races" (les Fous du Volant) and dreaming of being world champions one day!

WHAT IS "PETROL ART" ?

"Petrol Art" smells of oil, gasoline, asphalt, sweat in the helmet, burned tires, everything that reminds us of a past that made the legend, THE GLORY DAYS of racing and sport cars and motorcycles.
RACING IS MY PASSION
ART IS MY LIFE

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.

And like all little boys, I was fascinated by sports cars.

Over time, I traded in my little "Matchbox" and "Hotwheels" cars for the real thing, and my passion for racing only increased.

But in my Artworks, I still remember myself as a little boy of 7, in that small village in Switzerland, among the grazing cows.

Juan Manuel Fangio was also 7 years old one day, as were Niki Lauda, Ayrton Senna, Ken Miles, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Jacky Ickx, and all the other legendary drivers. All of us were children one day - you, me, everybody.
